Earthquake: Earthquake tremors were felt in the Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan on Thursday morning. Its magnitude was recorded at 3.9. The epicenter of the earthquake was 10 kilometers below the ground. This has been confirmed by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The earthquake was so intense that its tremors were felt as far as the Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh.
Tremors Felt in Several Areas of Madhya Pradesh
Mild tremors were felt in the Malhargarh tehsil and Pipliamandi area of Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh at around 10:07 am. Besides this, movement was also observed in the surrounding villages. People in areas like Pipliamandi, Kanghatti, Amarpura, and Rewas-Deora also felt the tremors.
The Ground Shook in Cities of Rajasthan Too
Apart from Pratapgarh, several areas of the city were affected. These included Nai Abadi, Sadar Bazaar, Areapati, Water Works, Bada Bagh Colony, and Manpur. According to people, the tremors lasted for a few seconds, but created an atmosphere of fear.
Atmosphere of Panic Among People
Fear and panic spread among the people after the earthquake tremors. Some people came out of their homes. However, no reports of any loss of life or property damage have been received so far. But people appeared worried about past experiences.
A Similar Earthquake Occurred 25 Years Ago Too
According to local people, similar tremors were felt in this area about 25 years ago as well. In the year 2000, an earthquake of mild intensity had also occurred in Pratapgarh and surrounding areas. Due to this, old memories were refreshed in the minds of many people, and they started taking precautions.
