The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has enabled an easier process for checking provident fund (PF) balances through the UMANG mobile application, allowing users to access account details without the need for passwords or captcha verification. The application integrates passbook access, claim tracking, and Universal Account Number (UAN) services on a single platform.
EPFO account holders can now retrieve PF balance information through the UMANG app as part of the expansion of digital services in India. The application is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. After logging in, users can navigate to the EPFO section and select the “View Passbook” option. By entering their UAN and verifying via a one-time password (OTP), users can view their balance, enabling both transparency and ease of access.
Under this system, PF account balances can be accessed through a mobile interface in a few steps. Once logged into the UMANG app, users can select EPFO services and access balance details via the “View Passbook” option. The passbook is generated using the UAN and OTP, allowing employees to review complete details of their contributions.
The EPFO section within the UMANG app provides multiple services, including passbook viewing, claim tracking, and UAN card download. After initial registration, users can log in using their mobile number and MPIN. In cases where the MPIN is not available, OTP-based login functionality is also provided. Upon selecting “View Passbook,” users can access detailed information on employee contribution, employer contribution, and pension contribution.
This digital facility addresses the need to avoid repeated website logins and password management. The UMANG app streamlines EPFO services, enabling faster access. It allows users to check PF account status in real time, facilitating easier access to account information.
