Farhan Akhtar announced the film 'Jee Le Zaraa' in 2021, which was set to star Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. However, for the past few years, there have been continuous reports that the primary reason for delays in this project is date clashes.
Jee Le Zaraa: Farhan Akhtar's film 'Jee Le Zaraa', which has been a topic of discussion in Bollywood for a long time, is once again in the spotlight. The film was officially announced in 2021 and was described as a female-centric road-trip film. The film had cast the trio of Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif.
However, due to date clashes and busy schedules, the film has been continuously pushed back. Now, Farhan Akhtar has clarified that the film has not been shelved but is currently on 'pause'.
Farhan Akhtar Gives Major Update
In an interview with YouTube channel Our Stupid Reactions, when Farhan Akhtar was asked if 'Jee Le Zaraa' had been shelved, he said, "I wouldn't want to say that the film has been stopped. I would just say that it has been put on the back burner, but this film will definitely be made. Its script is fantastic. I don't know when it will be made, but this film is stalled, not finished."
Farhan also clarified that he currently has no information on which actresses will be in the film. He said, "I cannot share any information regarding the cast at this moment. But I can definitely say that the film will be made."
Date Clashes Become a Major Hurdle
Farhan Akhtar stated that significant work related to location scouting, music, and script has already been completed for the film. This means the project is not entirely canceled but is awaiting the right time and availability of actors. In an interview with Variety in 2023, Farhan Akhtar had said, "We have date issues. I don't know what can happen and what can't. So I'm really starting to believe that this film has its own destiny. When it's meant to be made, it will be made."
It is clear that the busy schedules of all three top actresses have made the path for this film difficult. 'Jee Le Zaraa' is said to be a road-trip film on the lines of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. That film, directed by Farhan Akhtar, was a huge box office success and is still remembered by audiences today. This is why fans have high expectations from 'Jee Le Zaraa' as well.
