A fire broke out in a locked flat at Royal Residency in Fatehpur town of Rajasthan’s Sikar district, triggering an emergency response from police and fire department teams. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after nearly an hour of efforts, and no casualties were reported.
The incident occurred near Chhatariya Bus Stand, where police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene after receiving information about the fire. According to the initial investigation, a short circuit is suspected to have caused the blaze, although official confirmation is yet to be made.
Royal Residency is located in a densely populated area that includes residential flats, banks, shops and showrooms. The possibility of the fire spreading to nearby properties raised concerns among local residents.
Upon reaching the site, emergency responders faced difficulties because the flat was locked from inside. Heavy smoke had filled the premises, making entry and visibility extremely challenging while the fire continued to spread.
To gain access, firefighters and police personnel broke the flat’s window panes and entered through the windows. They then worked to vent the smoke and began firefighting operations inside the flat.
After nearly one hour of continuous efforts, the fire department and police team succeeded in bringing the blaze completely under control. Timely intervention prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring flats and nearby commercial establishments.
No one was present inside the flat at the time of the incident, and no loss of life was reported. However, authorities suspect that property and belongings inside the flat may have been damaged. An assessment is underway.
Fatehpur Kotwali Station House Officer Mahendra Kumar remained present at the site and led the operation. Constables Satpal Singh and Naresh Kumar also entered the flat and participated in the rescue and firefighting efforts.
Police said preliminary findings indicate that a short circuit may have caused the fire. A detailed investigation is being conducted to determine the exact cause. The electricity department and fire officials are also examining the incident.
The Royal Residency area contains several commercial establishments and residential units. Authorities said prompt action helped prevent the fire from causing wider damage in the busy locality.
Local residents appreciated the swift response by the police and fire department, stating that the fire could have spread to nearby shops and buildings if emergency teams had not reached the scene in time.
