Fake Cheese: During a late-night checking operation at the Chhota Toll Plaza in Jewar, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Food Safety Department seized 1150 kg of fake and adulterated paneer. This consignment was being supplied from Bulandshahr to the markets of Delhi-NCR. Officials have sent samples of the paneer for laboratory testing and have destroyed the rest using a bulldozer. The accused, Lokesh Singh, and his vehicle have been seized by the police. The department has instructed to increase active surveillance during the festive season and take strict action against adulteration.
Major Action at Jewar Toll Plaza
The team from the Gautam Buddh Nagar Food Safety Department stopped and searched a vehicle at the Chhota Toll Plaza in Jewar. They recovered 1150 kg of paneer, which was found to be fake and emitting a b foul odor. Officials stated that if this spoiled paneer had reached the market, it could have posed a serious threat to public health.
With the cooperation of the police, this consignment was being supplied from Bulandshahr to the markets of Delhi-NCR. During the festive season, adulterators often try to make hefty profits by selling counterfeit goods. The Food Safety Department took immediate action in this matter in coordination with the Jewar police station.
Paneer Destroyed and Sent for Lab Testing
Samples of the seized paneer have been sent for laboratory testing, while the remaining 1150 kg of paneer was destroyed by digging a pit and burying it in the ground with the help of a bulldozer. Officials have stated that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits once the investigation report is received.
Supplier Identified and Vehicle Seized
The Food Safety Department identified the supplier of the fake paneer as Lokesh Singh, a resident of Jahangirpur, Bulandshahr. He used to supply paneer to various markets in Delhi-NCR through his dairy. The police have seized the vehicle laden with paneer. Department official Sarvesh Mishra stated that the campaign against adulteration will continue unabated, and all teams have been instructed to remain active and vigilant in view of the festive season.
