- Keep a Kalash (pot) filled with betel nut, water, अक्षत (rice grains), and flowers near the platform.
- Light a ghee lamp and incense.
- Take water, rice, and flowers in your hand and take a vow for the fast and worship.
- Offer sandalwood, Kumkum, flowers, fruits, and Naivedya (offering of food) to the Mother.
- Recite the Gayatri Vrat Katha (story) and perform Aarti.
- Distribute Prasad (holy offering) and maintain restraint and faith throughout the day.
- Chant the Gayatri Mantra 108 times:
