Indian equity markets are expected to open on a subdued note on Wednesday, following negative early signals from Gift Nifty. At around 7:30 a.m., Gift Nifty was trading at 23,999.50, down approximately 26 points or 0.11%, indicating a weak start for the domestic market.

Market participants are assessing a mix of global and domestic factors. According to market experts, a potential easing of geopolitical tensions, increased participation by Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs), and softer crude oil prices could provide support to markets in the coming days.

Analysts said international conditions are gradually stabilizing. Discussions around a potential peace agreement between the United States and Iran, along with expectations of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, have contributed to a positive global market environment. These developments could ease concerns over energy supplies and may lead to further moderation in crude oil prices.

Lower oil prices are generally considered beneficial for import-dependent economies such as India, as they help reduce inflationary pressures and lower corporate costs.
