GNIOT Student Commits Suicide in Greater Noida Due to Exam Stress

Another student in Greater Noida has tragically lost her life due to mental stress. The latest incident involves Khushboo Pandit, a first-year B.Tech student at GNIOT College in Knowledge Park, who committed suicide by hanging herself at her home. Khushboo was originally from the Vaishali district of Bihar and resided with her family in Grand Fort Society, Sigma-4, Greater Noida. Khushboo's body was found hanging from the fan in her room late Tuesday night.

Upon receiving information from the family, the police arrived at the scene and took the body into custody for post-mortem examination. According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest that the student was under mental stress. The exact reasons for the suicide are being investigated. It is worth noting that a recent case of suicide by a BDS student from Sharda University has also come to light, which is raising concerns about the mental health of students in the region.

Incident During Examination Triggered Stress

According to information received, Khushboo was taking an exam at KCC College on July 9th. During the examination, she was allegedly found with a cheat sheet, as a result of which the college administration confiscated her answer sheet and provided her with a new one. The family claims that the alleged cheat sheet had no relation to the subject being tested. Despite this, Khushboo was deeply hurt and mentally stressed by the action taken by the college.

According to the family, Khushboo had been under immense stress since the incident. On the complaint of her brother, Vikas Pandit, the Beta-2 Kotwali police have registered a case against the KCC College management, an unknown teacher, and an employee under sections related to mental harassment. The police are investigating all aspects to uncover the truth.

College Administration Expresses Grief

The GNIOT College administration has expressed grief over this tragic incident. Dr. Dheeraj Gupta, Director of the college, stated that Khushboo was a promising student and that she had been counselled after the incident during the examination. He said that the student had also appeared for all the theory papers from July 10th to 16th and practical examinations between July 24th and 26th.

The college has also assured the student's family of all possible support. However, this incident raises serious questions about the education system, examination procedures, and student counselling systems. Experts believe that students should receive support not only academically but also mentally and emotionally, so that they can receive proper guidance in stressful situations and such incidents can be prevented.
