Haryana Couple Carries Elderly Mother-in-Law on Palanquin to Haridwar Pilgrimage

The colors of devotion to Lord Shiva are spread throughout the country in the auspicious month of Sawan. The echoes of "Har Har Mahadev" and the faith of Kanwar pilgrims are visible everywhere. In this devotional atmosphere, a unique story has emerged from Majra village in Haryana's Karnal district, which has moved people.

Anjali and her husband Balwan, from the village, fulfilled an old wish of their elderly mother-in-law, Prasanni Devi, by carrying her in a palanquin on the Kanwar pilgrimage to Haridwar. They not only served their mother but also set an example for society by completing the difficult journey of hundreds of kilometers. This sight surprised and touched people throughout the route, including in Saharanpur.

Daughter-in-law's Resolve and Son's Support

Balwan explained that his mother, Prasanni Devi, had longed for years to go to Haridwar in the month of Sawan to bring Ganga water and offer it to the Shivling. However, due to her advancing age, she was no longer able to walk for long periods.

When Balwan told his wife, Anjali, about this, Anjali decided without delay that they would both fulfill their mother's wish together. Anjali said, "The status of parents is even higher than God. No worship is considered complete without serving them." After this, the couple prepared a palanquin, seated the mother in it, and started the journey, seeking strength from Lord Bholenath.

Support and Blessings from People Along the Way

When this couple passed through Saharanpur, people on the road stopped to see their dedication. Amidst the colorful Kanwars, the crowds of devotees, and the chants of "Bol Bam," this sight was unique. People were seen bowing in reverence and praising the family's devotion and service.

Anju Pratap, a local resident of Saharanpur, said, "Such dedication and love are very rare in today's time. Anjali and Balwan have shown us that true devotion lies not in temples but in serving parents." Many people compared the couple to Shravan Kumar.

Daughter-in-law's Devotion Touched Hearts

While speaking to the media in Saharanpur, Anjali became emotional. She said, "Mother's wish was the most important thing for me. We prayed to Lord Shiva that mother should not face any difficulty during this journey."

Meanwhile, mother-in-law Prasanni Devi was overjoyed with this gesture of her daughter-in-law and son. She said, "My son and daughter-in-law have given me a happiness that I had never imagined. May Lord Shiva fulfill all their wishes." Balwan also praised his wife, saying that Anjali not only supported him but also gave a positive message to the entire society by showing devotion to her mother.

An Inspiring Example for Society

This journey was not only limited to religious faith but also became a symbol of the depth of relationships and respect for elders. Anjali and Balwan proved that devotion is not limited to worship, but true devotion lies in the shoulders that come forward to serve elderly parents.

Although this journey to Haridwar was difficult, the couple's faith, dedication, and love made this journey historic. They not only gave their mother-in-law a glimpse of the Ganges water but also touched the hearts of millions of people through this service.
