Questions have arisen regarding China's role during Operation Sindoor. India has accused China of providing military assistance to Pakistan, but China has not given a direct response.
New Delhi. Recently, serious allegations have been made by India regarding Operation Sindoor. Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh, Deputy Chief of the Indian Army, claimed that China provided active military assistance to Pakistan during this operation. Following this statement, when Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning was asked a question, she avoided giving a direct answer and instead offered a diplomatic response.
Mao Ning's Response: No Third Party is Targeted
During a press briefing in Beijing, Mao Ning said that China and Pakistan are traditionally close neighbors. Cooperation between them in the defense and security sector is not unusual. However, she did not explicitly say that China did not help Pakistan. Mao only reiterated that the purpose of cooperation between the two countries is not to target any third country.
Mao Ning Seemed to Avoid Direct Comment on the Allegation
When Mao Ning was asked whether China provided any active military support to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, she downplayed the allegation. She said, "I am not familiar with the specific matters you mentioned. I can only say that the China-Pakistan relationship does not target any third party."
China and Turkey Mentioned in Operation Sindoor
In a seminar held in Delhi, Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh had said that India had to fight on three fronts simultaneously during Operation Sindoor, which took place between May 7 and 10. Pakistan was the front face of this conflict. But China assisted its 'all-weather friend' Pakistan at every level. General Singh also said that China saw this war as a live test of its defense equipment. Along with this, Turkey also supported Islamabad by supplying military hardware.
India's Stance on China's Role
Indian security analysts believe that China's attitude is unclear. China has not directly accepted the support, but it has also not denied it. This stance deepens India's concern. China has repeatedly said that it wants balanced relations with both India and Pakistan. But in the real situation, its inclination towards Pakistan seems more.
China's Stance: Appeal for Peace and Dialogue
The Chinese spokesperson also said that Beijing is closely monitoring the developments between India and Pakistan. She said that China actively supports dialogue and peaceful solutions to maintain regional peace and stability. Mao Ning said, "We advise both countries to resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation."
Mao Ning also said that China-India relations are at an important stage of improvement and development. China wants both countries to enhance mutual cooperation and move relations towards stability.
Did China Side with Pakistan at India's Expense?
When Mao Ning was asked whether supporting Pakistan was not a move against India, she replied that the relationship between China and Pakistan does not target any third party. She appealed to both India and Pakistan to maintain stability in the region.
