Pakistan Assumes Temporary UNSC Presidency Today; India Exposes its Role in Terrorism Through UN Exhibition and Jaishankar's Speech, Vowing to Expose Perpetrators.
PAK: Pakistan today assumed the temporary presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Prior to this, India bly protested Pakistan's role in terrorism on the global stage. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar clearly stated that India would expose the perpetrators of terror. At the United Nations headquarters in New York, India highlighted Pakistan's role through an exhibition titled ‘The Human Cost of Terrorism’. Jaishankar also mentioned the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.
Pakistan Becomes UNSC President
Pakistan has taken over the presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of July. This role changes every month and currently falls to Pakistan. However, India has already bly protested this and labeled Pakistan a "sponsor of terror".
'The Human Cost of Terrorism' Exhibition: A Direct Attack
India set up a special exhibition at the entrance of the United Nations headquarters, titled – The Human Cost of Terrorism. Through this exhibition, India attempted to show the world that terrorism is not just a problem of one country but a global crisis.
The exhibition not only showcased glimpses of attacks that occurred in India, but also depicted Pakistan's role in international terrorist attacks such as 9/11. India used this opportunity to send a message to the global community to unite against terrorism.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's Strong Stance
On the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar clearly stated that India would expose the forces behind terrorism. He said that this effort was being made in memory of the innocent people who became victims of terrorism.
Jaishankar said, “This exhibition is the voice of those who are no longer in this world. It is the story of lives devastated by terrorism and a tribute from us to them.” Terrorism is the biggest threat to humanity. He said that it not only violates human rights but also goes against the fundamental principles of the United Nations.
Mention of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Pahalgam Attack
In his address, the External Affairs Minister also mentioned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, in which pilgrims were targeted. India responded to this attack through Operation Sindoor, which targeted cross-border terrorist infrastructure.
