India Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Multiple States

Monsoon is currently fully active across the country. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand are experiencing heavy rainfall, while Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar are troubled by humid heat.

Weather Forecast: The monsoon season continues across the country, and significant variations in weather patterns are being observed in different states. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand are currently experiencing heavy rainfall, which has increased the levels of rivers and water sources in these areas, proving to be a favorable time for crop irrigation for farmers. Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar are experiencing increased humidity due to the lack of rain, and people have been facing scorching heat for the past two to three days.

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is expected to remain active in peninsular and central India, resulting in heavy rainfall in these areas over the next two to three days. This may bring relief from the temperature but also pose a risk of flooding in several places.

Weather Conditions in Delhi-NCR

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a slight change in the minimum temperature has been observed in Delhi-NCR in the last 24 hours. The capital is expected to have partially cloudy skies tomorrow with a possibility of very light rain. The minimum temperature is expected to be 1-2 degrees below normal on Wednesday. There is very little chance of relief from the heat for the next three days.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in the next two to three days due to the activation of the peninsular monsoon. Weather experts say that the humid heat will continue in the capital for a few more days, so people should take measures to protect themselves from the sun and humidity.

Scorching Heat and Rainfall Forecast in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is also experiencing peak heat at this time. On Monday, the maximum temperature in most districts remained between 34-35 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has warned that the people of the state will not get relief from the heat for the next three days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in western Uttar Pradesh from August 23 to 25.

Heavy rainfall is expected in eastern UP from August 22 to 24. People need to take health-related precautions due to the humid heat and b sunlight.

Humidity and Upcoming Rainfall in Bihar

In Bihar, humidity and heat have affected public life in Patna and other districts. Some districts experienced sporadic rainfall at night, but the humidity increased after the light rain. There is no chance of relief from the heat in Bihar for the next three days. Heavy rainfall is expected in the state from August 22 to 25. The Meteorological Department has alerted the general public to remain vigilant about waterlogging and near rivers.

Rainfall and Landslide Risk in Uttarakhand

The impact of the monsoon continues in Uttarakhand. There has been some reduction in rainfall in the last two days, but the sky remained cloudy with light sunshine in Dehradun and surrounding areas. Heavy rainfall is expected in the state from August 23 to 25. There will be a risk of landslides and road blockages in the hilly areas. People have been advised to stay in safe places and avoid going near rivers/drains.

In Maharashtra, Mumbai, Konkan, and central Maharashtra are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from August 19 to 20. Rainfall may continue in Saurashtra and Kutch from August 19 to 21. The Meteorological Department has expressed concerns about waterlogging in crops. Farmers have been advised to drain excess water from the fields and adopt safety measures. The possibility of waterlogging and traffic jams in Mumbai and other cities may also increase.
