High-level peace talks between Iran and the United States are set to begin in Islamabad on Saturday, with delegations from both countries having arrived in Pakistan’s capital.
The United States delegation is being led by Vice President JD Vance, while Iran is represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi along with senior officials. The talks are aimed at reducing regional tensions.

He indicated that Washington’s objective is to end the conflict through the talks, while maintaining clear and strict conditions. Senior US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also part of the delegation.

Iran has outlined specific conditions prior to the talks. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf indicated that progress would depend on concrete steps on key issues, including a regional ceasefire and the return of blocked assets.
