BJP MLA Baba Balmukund Acharya from the Hawa Mahal assembly constituency in Jaipur is once again in the news. A video going viral on social media has intensified the political stir. In the video, the MLA is seen sitting on the station officer's chair inside the Ramganj police station and reprimanding the police officers present in a stern tone.
The incident is reported to be from July 13th, when an administrative meeting was held at the Ramganj police station in Jaipur regarding the Kanwar Yatra processions held during the month of Shravan. The meeting discussed topics like traffic management, parking, and the closure of meat shops during the yatra. Officers from Ramganj, Galta Gate, and Manak Chowk police stations were also present at the meeting.
Former State President Also Surprised
In the video, MLA Acharya is heard speaking on the phone to an officer, saying, "I will smash your head, remember that... You call me Maharaj?" During this, his demeanor was so harsh that former BJP state president Ashok Parnami, who was present there, was also surprised. He immediately questioned, "Should we complain to you or the station officer sitting in front?"
Furthermore, the MLA is also seen telling the police officers present in the police station that incidents keep happening, but no action is taken... and a meeting is held every six months for peace. The use of such behavior and language in the police station has now sparked a political uproar.
The MLA Has Developed a Passion for Running the Law
As soon as the video went viral, the Congress targeted the BJP regarding the MLA's behavior. Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Jully, while making a sharp remark on the social media platform X, wrote, "Those who make the law have now developed a passion for running the law. The one whom the public chose for policy-making, has forgotten the dignity of the constitution and the law in the intoxication of power. The public of Hawa Mahal is surprised – is this a respected MLA or a station officer?"
The Congress has sought a response from the BJP regarding this issue and has called the MLA's conduct against democratic order and administrative decorum.
