Devastation in Jammu and Kashmir due to Rain and Cloudbursts
Continuous heavy rainfall and natural calamities have caused devastation in Jammu and Kashmir. Three people died and several houses were swept away in a cloudburst in the Rajgarh area of Ramban. Meanwhile, seven people lost their lives due to landslides in Mahura, Reasi, and many individuals are still missing. The sudden floods and debris have spread panic throughout the region.
Relief and Rescue Operations Underway
Administration and NDRF teams reached the spot immediately and commenced rescue operations. Affected families are being moved to safer locations, and relief camps have been established. Authorities are continuously monitoring the situation, and search operations have been intensified to find the missing people.
The local administration has urged people to exercise caution. The water levels in rivers and streams are rising rapidly due to the heavy rainfall, further increasing the risk of floods and landslides. Connectivity has been cut off for many villages, and the transportation system has also been severely impacted.
