A case has been registered after a young man and his parents were allegedly assaulted and confined in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, police said. An investigation is underway, while all three injured persons are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to the complaint, the incident took place in Kulod Kalan village under the Sadar police station area. The complainant alleged that he was first attacked while returning home on a scooter, after which the assailants reached his residence, assaulted his parents, and allegedly confined all three family members in a room. Police later reached the spot, freed the injured, and shifted them to a hospital.
Ravi Kumar, a resident of Ola Ki Dhani in Kulod Kalan village, told police that he was returning home on his scooter on Monday night after finishing work at his poultry farm. He alleged that two people stopped him near the Chandpura Johri T-junction.
According to the complaint, the accused first abused him and then allegedly assaulted him. Ravi Kumar alleged that when he tried to call someone for help using his mobile phone, the attackers snatched and broke the device. He later managed to escape and reach his home.
The complainant alleged that after some time, the main accused arrived at his house along with family members and another individual. According to the complaint, the accused entered the house and assaulted Ravi Kumar, his father Rajesh Kumar, and his mother Krishna.
Ravi Kumar alleged that the attackers used sticks and sharp screwdriver-like weapons during the assault, causing serious injuries to all three. The complaint states that the family attempted to defend themselves, but the attackers allegedly continued the assault.
According to the complaint, after the assault, the accused allegedly dragged Ravi Kumar and his parents to their house and locked them inside a room, preventing them from leaving.
The family alleged that they remained confined for a considerable time and called for help until other relatives came to know about the incident.
Ravi Kumar's wife informed her uncle, Rakesh, about the incident. Rakesh and his wife Suman reached the spot and immediately informed the police.
Sadar police reached the location, rescued the three people who had allegedly been confined, and shifted Ravi Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, and Krishna to BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu, where they are undergoing treatment.
Sadar Station House Officer Vimla Budania said a case has been registered against Naveen Ola and other accused on the basis of the victim's complaint.
Police said the investigation is continuing and statements from all parties are being recorded. Evidence related to the scene is also being examined, and further legal action will be taken on the basis of the investigation.
Following the incident, relatives of the victims demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. Ravi Kumar's uncle and other family members alleged that the incident had created fear within the family.
They said that if police had not reached the spot in time, the situation could have become more serious. The family has sought strict action against the accused and security for the victims.
The case is currently under police investigation. The allegations made in the complaint will be verified on the basis of the investigation and available evidence. Police said further action will be taken only after an impartial investigation into all the facts. The accused's version has not yet emerged.
