At the foundation day celebration of the 'HAM' party held in Manpur, Gaya, Union Minister and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi completely dismissed the opposition's claims regarding law and order in Bihar. He stated that today there is neither any communal tension nor any major incident of caste conflict in Bihar, yet the opposition is singing the tune of 'Jungle Raj' without any factual basis.
Manjhi said that no one has forgotten the situation before 2005, when there was an atmosphere of anarchy in the state and even the court had to say that there was 'Jungle Raj' in Bihar. But today, no such comment has come from the court. He questioned whether it is correct to directly call it a failure of law and order when lovers quarrel and commit suicide, or a murder occurs due to personal enmity?
Strict Action Against Criminals
Manjhi said that in the current government, strict action is being taken against criminals and the police are taking swift steps. As an example, he mentioned the murder of a businessman in Patna, where the accused was caught and encountered. Manjhi sarcastically asked if anyone had ever seen encounters happening during his rule?
He further said that in the Patna Paras Hospital incident also, the police arrested all the accused within two days and action is being taken according to the law. Manjhi claimed that in previous governments, criminals and victims alike were called to 1 Aney Marg and even extorted. But today, no one dares to do any such activity. Today, there is the rule of law in the state and a peaceful atmosphere prevails.
Targeting Chirag Paswan
Attacking Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, Manjhi said that he only makes statements without understanding the social and educational status of the community he talks about. He said that the average literacy rate of Bihar is 80 percent, but the literacy rate of Scheduled Castes is only 32-33 percent. Manjhi stated that the literacy rate of his Bhuiyan-Musahar community is only 7 percent, which is still the most backward class.
He questioned who is responsible if, even after 78 years of independence, this community is not able to produce doctors, engineers, MLAs, or ministers? Manjhi supported the Supreme Court's order on the classification of Scheduled Castes, saying that those who are opposing it do not want the most backward sections of the society to move forward.
Opposition Lacking Issues
Manjhi also said that the opposition has no concrete issues left now, so they are unnecessarily raising issues like law and order to mislead the public. But the people of Bihar are now aware and will not fall into these conspiracies.
He said that it is natural for incidents to happen occasionally in the population of 14 crore in Bihar, but it is completely wrong to link it to the failure of law and order in the state. Manjhi clarified that there is no place for criminals in the state now, the administration is vigilant and action is being taken under the law.
