Smita further stated that she had given Kashish Kapoor the option to either purchase the gown or provide compensation. However, Kashish initially stalled on the matter and later blocked the designer on Instagram.

As the controversy escalated, Kashish Kapoor's team has now filed a defamation case against designer Smita Srinivas. According to sources, the case has been filed by Dot Media Agency on behalf of the actress. The agency claims that the designer deliberately leaked the personal contact details of two female employees, putting their safety and privacy at risk.
The agency states that this matter has also damaged their reputation. Furthermore, according to the team, action had already been taken against the responsible individual in the internal process.

Smita Srinivas also stated on social media that it took her several days to make the gown, and its cost was ₹85,000. Despite this, the gown was given to Kashish Kapoor for only ₹40,000. The designer alleged that the condition of the gown was so bad that it could not be reused. This incident has also caused a stir on social media.
