The first direct flight between Lucknow and Noida was successfully operated on Monday, strengthening air connectivity between two of Uttar Pradesh’s key cities. A special event was organized at the airport to mark the occasion, while 182 passengers travelled on the inaugural flight.
The inaugural direct service was operated from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow. The launch of the new route is expected to make travel between the state’s two important economic and administrative centres more convenient.
To commemorate the launch, a lamp-lighting ceremony and cake-cutting event were held at the airport premises. Senior officials from the airline and airport management described the new service as an important development for the state’s aviation connectivity.
A total of 182 passengers travelled on the first flight, 6E 2278, from Lucknow to Noida. Among the passengers was actress Gul Panag, whose presence drew attention to the inaugural service.
In addition, around 80 employees of a private company travelled as a group on the flight. The participation of a large number of passengers indicated b demand for a direct air link between the two cities and a positive response to the service.
The new route is expected to benefit travellers associated with business, industry, education and the corporate sector. The direct connection will significantly reduce travel time between the two cities and is expected to support commercial activity.
The airline also operated additional flights on June 15, 2026, as part of a special operation. Under this arrangement, one flight arrived in Lucknow from Noida, while another departed from Lucknow for Noida.
According to airport management, flights are currently being operated under a special arrangement. Regular commercial flight services on the route will commence from July 1, 2026.
Experts believe that the launch of a direct air service between Lucknow and Noida will strengthen regional connectivity within Uttar Pradesh. They also said the service could support investment, employment and business activity, and become an important link in the state’s expanding aviation network.
