The Madhya Pradesh government has granted administrative approval for the direct recruitment of 9,662 posts in the state police department. Following directions from Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Home Department has approved the recruitment process, and an official notification is expected to be issued soon by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB).
The approved recruitment covers 9,662 vacancies across multiple police department posts. The government has stated that the vacancies will be filled to address vacant positions in the department. Work on the next stage of the recruitment process is expected to begin following the administrative approval.
The recruitment process was expedited after Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav directed senior police officials during a meeting at the Police Headquarters to fill vacant posts in the department. The Home Department subsequently issued the administrative approval for the recruitment.
The Chief Minister also stated that recruitment will be conducted for a total of 18,000 police posts in the state. Administrative approval has currently been granted for 9,662 posts, while separate orders for the remaining vacancies are expected to be issued later.
Among the approved vacancies, 7,500 posts are for General Duty (GD) Constables. The recruitment also includes 1,000 Constable Driver posts, 135 Subedar (A) Stenographer posts, and 520 Assistant Sub-Inspector (A) posts.
Under a separate order, direct recruitment will also be conducted for 81 Non-Gazetted Subedar posts, 312 District Police Force Sub-Inspector posts, 69 Special Armed Force (SAF) posts, and 507 posts in technical units, including the Fingerprint, Armoury and Photography branches.
The detailed recruitment notification will be released on the official MPESB website. Following the notification, the online application process will begin, allowing eligible candidates to apply within the prescribed period. The notification will include details regarding age limits, educational qualifications, the selection process, the physical efficiency test, application fees, and examination-related information.
According to the state government, around 25,000 police personnel have already been promoted. It stated that the combination of new recruitment and promotions is intended to strengthen the functioning of the police department. If the recruitment process proceeds as scheduled, eligible candidates seeking to join the Madhya Pradesh Police will be able to submit applications after the official notification is issued.
