Manisha Death Case: CBI Investigation Ordered After Suspicious Circumstances in Haryana

On August 13th, a severely mutilated body of a woman was found in a field under suspicious circumstances in Singhani village, Bhiwani district, Haryana. After investigation, it was revealed that the deceased was 19-year-old Manisha, a teacher at a primary school in Bhiwani.

Manisha taught at a primary school, and the condition of her body was deeply disturbing. Even after two post-mortem examinations, the exact cause of death has not been determined, leading to a third post-mortem being initiated at Delhi AIIMS.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed that the investigation of this case be handed over to the CBI. The deceased's family and villagers suspect murder and are demanding justice.

Complete Timeline of Manisha's Death

  • August 11, 2025: Manisha left her home after eating breakfast and went to teach children at a private primary school in Singhani village. After that, she went missing. Her family started searching for her.
  • August 13, 2025: Villagers found Manisha's body in a field. The condition of the body was severe—throat slit, face disfigured, and eyes bulging out. The villagers immediately informed the police and the village head.
  • August 15, 2025: In the initial investigation of the case, after a post-mortem at Bhiwani Hospital, a re-post-mortem of the body was conducted at PGI Rohtak. On the same day, following a complaint by Manisha's father, the Bhiwani SP was transferred, and four police officers were suspended.
  • August 16, 2025: When the police examined CCTV footage, it was revealed that Manisha had bought a pesticide called Monospray from a shop. Pesticide was also found in the body in the viscera report.
  • August 17, 2025: The police investigated the scene with a forensic team and dog squad. Sharp weapon marks were found on the neck in the two post-mortem examinations. The deceased's eyes and some parts of the head were missing.
  • August 18, 2025: Villagers and women took out a candle march in protest of the incident. During this, slogans were raised against the police and administration.
  • August 19, 2025: Based on the viscera report, the police stated pesticide as the cause of death in the primary report. Manisha's father questioned the police report and alleged that the administration pressured the committee to consent to the cremation.
  • August 20, 2025: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the investigation of the case would be handed over to the CBI. Manisha's body was sent to Delhi AIIMS for a third post-mortem.

Investigation so far in the Manisha Death Case

IG Y. Puran Kumar of Rohtak Range stated that scientific methods are being used in the investigation of Manisha's death. So far, post-mortem examinations have been conducted twice in Bhiwani and PGI Rohtak. The police have tried to get to the bottom of the case through CCTV footage, viscera reports, and forensic investigations.

Although the post-mortem report suggests a case of suicide, the family and villagers are not accepting it. They believe that Manisha was a victim of murder and that true justice will only be served when the investigation is thoroughly conducted by an independent body like the CBI. Manisha's family and villagers are continuously demanding justice in this case.
