Meerut: Shahzad alias Nikki, a resident of Mohammadpur Shakist village in the Bahsuma police station area, was killed by the police in an encounter in Sarurpur forest. He was a notorious criminal with a bounty of Rs 25,000 and had several criminal cases registered against him, including theft, robbery, rape, and charges under the POCSO Act, among others.

When the police took the deceased's body to his home, his father, Rahisuddin (alias Pappu), clearly stated that they would not accept Shahzad's body. He explained that he had severed all ties with his son 16 years ago.

His mother, Naseema, also supported her husband's decision. The deceased's two younger brothers — Parvez and Wasim — were present at the scene.

Police officials stated that since the family members refused to accept the body, it was interred in Meerut's cemetery.
