Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a six-day official visit to France from June 13, 2026. The visit will take place in Evian and Paris between June 13–14 and June 16–18.
As part of efforts to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will jointly inaugurate the “Bharat Innovates 2026” event in France. The initiative is intended to showcase India’s rapidly evolving startup, deep-tech and innovation ecosystem to global investors, industry leaders and research institutions.
The event, being held during the Prime Minister’s visit, is expected to contribute to expanding cooperation between the two countries in technology, research and investment. According to experts, the initiative forms part of India’s strategy to establish itself as a global innovation hub.
A total of 120 leading Indian startups and innovators will participate in “Bharat Innovates 2026,” presenting their technologies and products. The event will also feature participation from 15 major higher education institutions and more than 500 global investors.
Special emphasis will be placed on 13 key technology sectors, including advanced computing, semiconductors, space technology, biotechnology, energy, healthcare, manufacturing and other emerging fields. The platform aims to connect Indian innovations with global markets and create new opportunities for international investment.
India has made significant progress in the deep-tech startup sector in recent years. Indian companies operating in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, space technology, advanced manufacturing and semiconductor design have been expanding their presence globally. Through “Bharat Innovates 2026,” these technological capabilities will be presented to international investors and industry representatives. The initiative is expected to support Indian startups in accessing capital, global partnerships and new markets.
A key objective of the event is also to promote innovation-driven collaboration between India and France. Both countries are working to strengthen partnerships in emerging technologies, research and development, technology transfer and co-development projects. During the event, representatives of Indian startups, universities, research institutions and industry will have the opportunity to engage directly with French investors, corporate entities and government agencies.
The event is expected to attract leading venture capital firms, representatives of global corporate groups, senior industry executives and international investors. Several announcements related to research and development, deep-tech investment, startup expansion and global collaboration are expected during the programme.
The Indian delegation is expected to include External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, as well as leading scientists and technology experts from the country.
India and France already maintain b cooperation across sectors including defence, space, energy, maritime security and technology. The two countries are also advancing strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. During President Emmanuel Macron’s recent visit to India, both sides agreed to make innovation and technological cooperation a key pillar of their strategic partnership. “Bharat Innovates 2026” is being viewed as an important extension of that shared vision.
