New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said on Wednesday that religion is not merely a belief system but the ultimate truth. He said that following religion and remaining committed to it not only brings courage and resolve in individual life, but also establishes peace and harmony in society.
He made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the Dharma Jagran Nyas office in Delhi. During this, he spoke on the expansiveness of religion, its universality, and its role in society.
Religion Gives Courage in Crisis - Mohan Bhagwat
Mohan Bhagwat said that when a person walks on the path of Dharma with truth and honesty, he gets the strength to overcome every difficult situation. He said:
'If your commitment to Dharma is b, you will never lose courage. There are many examples in history when even ordinary people sacrificed everything for Dharma.'
Referring to the film 'Chhava' based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Bhagwat said that in this country, not only kings but also ordinary people sacrificed for Dharma.
We are Diverse but not Different
Emphasizing the need for unity and harmony in society, Bhagwat said that:
'We may look different, our clothes, language, dialect and traditions may be different, but we are all one. Dharma teaches us belonging and gives us the power to accept diversities.'
He said that in a multicultural country like India, Dharma is the power that binds diversities together. It is not just a method of worship but a way of life that promotes respect, compassion and tolerance in society.
The World Needs an Inclusive Approach Like Hinduism
The RSS chief said that today's world needs a religion that, like Hinduism, encompasses all opinions and sects. Hinduism has accepted everyone for centuries. It does not deny anyone, but embraces everyone. Such thinking and outlook is the greatest need at the global level today.
He also said that the growing fanaticism, violence and hatred in the world can only be eradicated with an inclusive religious outlook. Mohan Bhagwat also clarified that not only institutions or governments, but also society has a responsibility to ensure that people do not deviate from the path of Dharma. Every person has to understand that following Dharma is necessary not only for individual salvation, but also for social welfare and national unity.
