New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) inaugurated its 17th office in Delhi. This office is located on Deendayal Upadhyay Marg. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. Also present were BJP National President JP Nadda, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, other ministers of the Delhi government, and all BJP Members of Parliament from Delhi. On this occasion, State BJP President Virendra Sachdeva presided over the ceremony.

Importance of the New Office

State BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated at the inauguration ceremony that BJP leaders and workers have been the voice of the people of Delhi since the time of the Jan Sangh. He informed that party workers had been waiting for their permanent office for years, which has now been realized. He also added that with the new office, BJP will further strengthen its presence and activities in Delhi.

BJP's Expansion in Delhi

BJP started in 1980 with a two-room office in Delhi. At that time, the office located at Ajmeri Gate served as the national office. Gradually, with the expansion of the party, this office transformed into a state office. Now, with 14 district offices, two national offices, and a permanent state office, the 17th office has been added to BJP's presence in Delhi.

Highlights of the Inauguration Ceremony

During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of the new office. He stated that this office would not only strengthen BJP's organizational work but also help increase public outreach in Delhi. Furthermore, all BJP MPs and leaders also contributed to emphasizing the significance of the new office by attending the ceremony.

Information on Old Offices

BJP's current permanent state office is located at 14 Pandit Pant Marg. It was allocated as a residence to Madan Lal Khurana during his tenure as an MP. Later, in 1990, he converted it into a party office. Subsequently, the bungalow was transferred to Lal Bihari Tiwari. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee became Prime Minister, it was allocated as the state BJP office.

History of the Ajmeri Gate Office

The office at Ajmeri Gate initially housed the state office on one floor and the national office on the first floor. Both floors had only two rooms. One room was allocated for the state office staff and the other for the state president. Sundar Singh, who previously worked in these offices, states that resources were limited at the time, but the party effectively carried out its work even under difficult circumstances.
