Torrential rains continue to lash various parts of the country, from the hilly regions to the plains, severely affecting daily life. The water level of many rivers has crossed the danger mark, increasing the possibility of flooding.
New Delhi: The monsoon is currently in full swing across the country, leading to heavy rainfall in several states including Delhi, Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Uttarakhand. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted intense rainfall and potential flooding in several states in the coming days. Red and Orange alerts have been issued by the Meteorological Department, especially for Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and eastern Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, intermittent light rain in Uttar Pradesh has provided some relief to the people, but warnings of lightning strikes and b winds have also been issued in some districts.
Delhi: Clouds and Drizzle Persist
The national capital, Delhi, remained cloudy from Thursday morning, and light to moderate rain made the weather pleasant. According to the India Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is likely to continue throughout the day today.

Uttar Pradesh: Rain Slows Down, but Alert Issued

The monsoon is at its peak in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and lightning strikes for the next four to five days.
- Affected Districts: Patna, Nalanda, Begusarai, Jehanabad, Sheikhpura, Gaya, Nawada, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, and Aurangabad
- Warning: Possibility of b winds, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes
- In view of the flood situation, the administration has advised people to be vigilant in low-lying areas.
Rajasthan: Several Districts Waterlogged
- More than 150 mm of rainfall has been recorded in eastern and southern Rajasthan in the last 24 hours.
- Affected Districts: Sawai Madhopur, Baran, Tonk
- Situation: Waterlogging and flood-like conditions in many areas
- Heavy rain is also expected on August 1
The Meteorological Department has warned that more rainfall is likely in the next few days, which may disrupt traffic in rural and urban areas.
West Bengal: Active Monsoon in Both North and South Parts
Due to the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, many parts of Bengal are experiencing heavy rainfall.

- South Bengal: Possibility of heavy rainfall in some places
- Waterlogging and traffic jams are being observed in areas like Kolkata, Hooghly, Howrah, and North 24 Parganas.
