A motorcycle rider died on the spot after being hit by a Thar SUV in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. The accident occurred while the युवक was travelling from Muzaffarpur towards Hajipur.
According to eyewitnesses, the Thar SUV was being driven at a high speed when it struck a motorcycle travelling ahead of it. The impact of the collision threw the rider onto the road, leaving him critically injured.
Local residents immediately attempted to take him to a hospital, but he had already died by then.
Following the accident, the driver of the Thar SUV abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled. After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and took the vehicle into custody.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Police have initiated the process of identifying the deceased and informing his family members.
A crowd gathered at the accident site for some time after the incident. Local residents demanded measures to curb overspeeding on the road, stating that vehicles are often driven at high speed on the route, increasing the risk of accidents.
Police officials said the vehicle’s registration number and other documents are being examined to identify the absconding driver. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is also being reviewed to establish the full sequence of events.
Police are currently investigating the case. Officials said it will become clear only after the investigation under what circumstances the accident occurred and under which legal provisions action will be taken against the vehicle driver.
