MP CM Mohan Yadav Stirs Mathura Dispute: "If Ram Can Smile in Ayodhya, Why Not Krishna?"

MP CM Mohan Yadav Stirs Mathura Dispute:

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, while participating in an event held in Vrindavan, Mathura, on Sunday, made a statement that has given new impetus to political and religious debates in Uttar Pradesh.

Mathura: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made a controversial statement during an event in Mathura, UP. He said, “If Lord Ram can smile in Ayodhya, why not Krishna?” This statement is being linked to the ongoing dispute concerning the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura, which is still pending in court.

CM Mohan Yadav's statement has stirred the political and religious corridors, as it directly refers to that dispute. Additionally, he stated that religious sites should be respected and everyone should await a just resolution.

CM Mohan Yadav Attends Bhagwat Katha

The Bhagwat Katha program held in Vrindavan was organized by Madhya Pradesh government minister Rakesh Sharma. The event was dedicated to the success of "Operation Sindoor" and the memory of martyrs. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who arrived as the chief guest for its concluding ceremony, subtly commented on Mathura's religious dispute during his address.

In his speech, Mohan Yadav said, "We have seen Ram Lalla smiling in Ayodhya. This is a changing era. When Ram Lalla is smiling, what is wrong if Krishna Kanhaiya also smiles? This is also a matter of joy. A voice is rising from all directions. Those who are deaf should clear their ears, and those whose eyes are clouded should see clearly. We are not very far."

What is the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Dispute?

The Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Mosque dispute in Mathura is one of the most sensitive religious issues in the country. The Hindu side claims that the land where the Shahi Idgah Mosque stands is the birthplace of Lord Krishna. They state that the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb demolished the temple and constructed the mosque in the 17th century.

The Muslim side refers to an agreement made in 1968 and the Places of Worship Act 1991, which stipulates that the religious status of any place of worship cannot be altered after August 15, 1947. This case is currently pending in the Allahabad High Court and is being heard regularly.

Referring to Ayodhya in his statement, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that just as Ram Lalla is now enshrined in his temple and millions of devotees consider it a historic achievement, the idea of "Kanhaiya smiling" in Mathura is not impossible either.
