NCP-SP Leader Nilesh Lanke Explains Constitution to Advocate Rakesh Kishore After CJI Shoe Incident

NCP-SP leader Nilesh Lanke met with advocate Rakesh Kishore, who had attempted to throw a shoe at CJI BR Gavai. Lanke explained the importance of the Constitution to Kishore and warned him in a Gandhian manner.

Mumbai: NCP-SP leader Nilesh Lanke in Maharashtra met with suspended advocate Rakesh Kishore, who had recently attempted to throw a shoe at CJI BR Gavai. The purpose of this meeting was to make Kishore understand the importance of the Constitution and the need to abide by it.

During the meeting, Nilesh Lanke stated that Rakesh Kishore still has not accepted the Constitution and showed no remorse. The meeting took place inside the court premises under police protection. During this, Kishore was provided with a copy of the Constitution along with a photograph.

Gandhian Meeting to Explain the Constitution to Kishore

Nilesh Lanke stated that the objective of the meeting was to make Kishore understand the importance of the Constitution and the need to abide by it. He mentioned that the meeting was conducted entirely using Gandhian methods, so that respect and awareness for the Constitution could grow in the advocate's mind.

Lanke said, “The country operates on the basis of the Constitution, as drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar, and CJI BR Gavai protects it. For individuals who disrespect this system, it is essential that they have a fundamental understanding of the Constitution.”

Rakesh Kishore's Statement Regarding the Constitution

During the meeting, Rakesh Kishore clearly stated that “the Constitution is not valid for us.” This statement made it clear that Kishore still does not accept the Constitution. Nilesh Lanke and his team attempted to explain its relevance and importance by showing him a copy of the Constitution.

Lanke emphasized that the Constitution is the backbone of society and the justice system, and it is every citizen's responsibility to adhere to it. During this meeting, Kishore was also informed that compliance with the Constitution is essential for the strength of democracy and the safety of citizens.

Balance Between Nation and Religion is Essential

Nilesh Lanke also conveyed during the meeting that the country does not operate on the basis of caste, religion, or community, but rather on adherence to the rules of the Constitution and law. He stated that knowledge of religion is important, but the foundation of the nation rests on the Constitution.

He explained to Kishore that the correct way to resolve any conflict or dissatisfaction in the country is to adhere to the Constitution and the judicial system, rather than resorting to violent acts.
