During the Kanwar Yatra, several entry and exit gates and the parking facilities connected to them at 17 Namo Bharat (RRTS) stations between Ghaziabad and Meerut will remain temporarily closed from August 4 to August 12. Train services will continue to operate as per the scheduled timetable.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has implemented temporary arrangements at 17 Namo Bharat (RRTS) stations between Ghaziabad and Meerut to manage increased crowds and ensure security during the Kanwar Yatra. The arrangements will remain in effect from August 4 to August 12.
Under the revised arrangements, Gate No. 2 will remain temporarily closed at Modipuram, Meerut North, MES Colony, Bhainsali, Meerut Central, Brahmpuri, Shatabdi Nagar, Rithani, Partapur, Meerut South, Modinagar North, Modinagar South, Muradnagar and Guldhar stations.
At Begumpul station, Gates No. 2 and 3 will remain closed. At Duhai station, Gates No. 3 and 4 will remain closed, while at Ghaziabad station, Gates No. 3 and 5 will remain closed during the same period. Parking facilities connected to these gates will also remain unavailable to passengers.
NCRTC said only selected entry and exit gates have been closed temporarily. Namo Bharat train services will continue to operate normally according to the scheduled timetable, and all trains will run as usual.
Passengers have been advised to use the alternative entry and exit gates that remain open at the respective stations to avoid inconvenience. NCRTC Public Relations Officer Puneet Vats also appealed to passengers to check station arrangements before travelling and use only the available gates.
The rail administration said additional crowds and traffic restrictions are expected on several routes during the Kanwar Yatra. Passengers have been advised to leave earlier than usual and plan their journeys in advance by using the available alternative access routes at stations to avoid unnecessary delays. The administration said the temporary arrangements are intended to maintain security while ensuring uninterrupted operation of Namo Bharat rapid rail services.
