Northeast Frontier Railway to Receive Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Namo Bharat Trains; ₹19,858 Crore Budget Approved for Development.
Indian Railway News: Good news for the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express train from Patliputra to Gorakhpur on June 20th. This is considered a significant achievement for the NFR region. Furthermore, modern trains like Amrit Bharat and Namo Bharat will also soon be introduced in this region.
₹19,858 Crore Development Budget
Railway Chairman Satish Kumar stated that a budget of ₹19,858 crore has been approved for the overall development of the railways. This amount will not only increase the number of trains but also modernize passenger amenities. This includes crucial projects such as station redevelopment, railway line doubling, and the addition of third lines.
Redevelopment of 1300 Stations
The redevelopment of 1300 railway stations across the country is underway. 57 stations in Uttar Pradesh are part of this project. Redevelopment will provide passengers with cleaner, safer, and more modern stations. Satish Kumar stated that this initiative aims to provide passengers with a world-class experience.
Plan for 50 Vande Bharat, 100 Amrit Bharat, and 50 Namo Bharat Trains
The Railways plan to introduce 50 new Vande Bharat, 100 Amrit Bharat, and 50 Namo Bharat trains in the coming years. 50 Vande Bharat trains will be added to the railway network shortly. These trains are known for their high speed, modern technology, and comfortable journeys.
Improved General Coach Amenities in Amrit Bharat Trains
Amrit Bharat trains will offer improved general coach amenities. These coaches will provide features similar to AC coaches, but at standard fares. Currently, four general coaches – two at the front and two at the rear – are being added to each train. This will provide relief to general passengers and reduce overcrowding.
Gorakhpur Station Redevelopment Progressing Rapidly
Redevelopment work at Gorakhpur railway station is progressing rapidly. During an inspection of the running room, the Railway Chairman reported that facilities have improved significantly. Work is proceeding satisfactorily under the leadership of the General Manager and DRM.
Doubling and Tripling of Lines Underway
Satish Kumar stated that the doubling and tripling of railway lines is progressing rapidly. Work is underway in areas such as Khalilabad to Bahraich, Sahjanwa to Dohrigaht, Anand Nagar, and Ghugli. These projects will enhance both the capacity and convenience of the railway network.
New Terminals to be Developed Near Major Stations
Using Pune station as an example, the Railway Chairman explained that smaller stations near major stations across the country are being developed as terminals. This will increase the number of trains and reduce traffic congestion at main stations. This strategy will help to make rail operations more efficient in large cities.
