This trip holds not only administrative significance but is also considered culturally and socially important for the state. During her visit, the President will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key projects, and will also participate in a mass yoga program on International Yoga Day, June 21st.
President's Residence Opens to the Public
President Murmu will be staying at the President's residence in Dehradun, 'Rashtrapati Nketan,' during her visit. This will mark the first time this residence will be opened to the general public. On June 20th, in a special ceremony, the President will announce the opening of 'Rashtrapati Nketan' to the public. An information center for visitors, a cafeteria, and a souvenir shop will also be inaugurated on this occasion, proving useful for visiting tourists.
She will also inaugurate 'Rashtrapati Tapovan' and lay the foundation stone for 'Rashtrapati Udyan'. Both locations will be open to the public from June 24th. According to officials, Rashtrapati Nketan is an eco-friendly structure, designed in accordance with the 'green building' concept.
Foundation Stone for Amphitheater, Stables, and Staff Quarters
On the first day of her visit, President Murmu will inaugurate a grand amphitheater at 'Rashtrapati Nketan'. This amphitheater will be used for cultural events, public interactions, and presidential-level meetings. Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for staff quarters, stables, and barracks for the President's Bhavan staff, enhancing their comfort and security.
On the second day, the President will visit the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), renowned nationwide for its work in empowering people with disabilities. She will observe a science laboratory, a technology model school, and an exhibition. She will also interact with the students, offering inspiration and guidance.
Commemorative Stamp Release: Nainital Raj Bhavan's 125th Anniversary
That evening, President Murmu will proceed to Nainital, where she will release a special commemorative postage stamp marking the 125th anniversary of the Raj Bhavan. This event is considered historically significant and symbolizes respect for Uttarakhand's architectural and administrative history. The final and most significant day of the tour will be June 21st, when the President will participate in a mass yoga session with thousands of people at the State Police Line ground in Dehradun on International Yoga Day. She will be joined by the state's Chief Minister, Governor, and numerous dignitaries.
