Splitsvilla season 10 fame Khushi Mukherjee is known for her bold and outspoken nature. Recently, one of her modern and bold outfits went viral on social media, leading to significant trolling.
Khushi Mukherjee Replies to Zareen Khan: Social media trolling is commonplace in the Bollywood and glamour industry, but when one actress publicly comments on another's dressing sense, controversy is inevitable. This happened when Bollywood actress Zareen Khan criticized Khushi Mukherjee's bold outfit. Khushi Mukherjee has now broken her silence and responded sharply to Zareen Khan's remark.
What was the whole issue?
Recently, Khushi Mukherjee attended an event wearing a golden, shiny, bold dress. While some found her outfit attractive, several users on social media started trolling her. Among them, actress Zareen Khan, in an Instagram reel, sarcastically commented: "If you want to hide it, why wear such a short dress? And if you want to show it, why hide it by pulling it?" This comment went viral, with many calling it shameful and judgemental.
Khushi Mukherjee has now responded. In an interview with FilmiGyan, she stated that Zareen Khan should focus on her acting career before commenting on others' attire. She opined that Zareen received a major break debuting opposite Salman Khan in 'Veer'.
She added that if Zareen had shown as much expression in her films as she does in her reels, her name might be mentioned alongside Deepika Padukone today. She further stated that girls in Bollywood are often judged based on their dressing, and this mentality needs to change.
'Identity is determined by talent, not clothes'
Khushi Mukherjee believes that what a woman wears is a personal choice. "We are in 2025, but the mindset is still stuck in the 90s," she said. Women's clothing cannot be a measure of their talent. My attire does not diminish my art or personality. Zareen Khan debuted in 2010 with Salman Khan in the film 'Veer'.
She subsequently worked in films like 'Housefull 2', 'Hate Story 3', and 'Aksar 2'. However, she never achieved the level of recognition expected after her debut. Currently, she is active in some Punjabi and regional films. Zareen is quite active on social media and often shares her opinions. However, this time, her opinion has sparked a new debate.
Social media fandoms clash
While Zareen Khan's fans consider her statement to be 'true', Khushi Mukherjee's supporters argue that judging a woman based on her attire is wrong. One user wrote: "Everyone has the right to live their life in their own way, whether it's Zareen or Khushi. Stop lecturing about morality based on someone's dress."
