Leaders from the Samajwadi Party and Congress raised questions about vote theft and the impartiality of the administration. Akhilesh Yadav reacted bly against the Election Commission, displaying affidavits.

New Delhi: Amidst allegations of vote theft, the opposition protested in Parliament. On Tuesday, leaders of the ‘INDIA’ bloc, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, gathered in the Parliament complex to protest against the Election Commission, complaining about irregularities in the SIR process and the failure to account for 18,000 voters’ votes. The main objective of the demonstration was to question the impartiality of the administration and the Election Commission and to ensure the protection of the voter's right in a democracy.

Akhilesh Yadav Accuses, Showing Copies of Affidavits

Samajwadi Party chief and MP Akhilesh Yadav presented copies of affidavits to the media. He stated that the Election Commission had been informed about the removal of 18,000 voters' names and their disenfranchisement. Akhilesh Yadav said, "We sent emails and affidavits to the Election Commission, but despite this, 18,000 voters were unable to exercise their right. There was a 'robbery' of votes in the by-elections held in Uttar Pradesh, and the police assisted in this. We have documents to prove it. If the Commission had taken action in even one case, not a single vote would have been missed."

Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that the roots of democracy are weakening, and it is the responsibility of every political party to protect the franchise of the public. He said that the protest is not just a political demonstration but a necessary step to protect democracy.

Opposition Accuses Democracy of Being in Danger

SP MP Virendra Singh said, "We are not against the SIR process, but the way it is being conducted with the cooperation of the government is not fair. If the Election Commission does not act impartially, we will be left with the option of impeachment."

SP MP Awadhesh Prasad spoke of the danger to the Constitution and democracy in the country. He said, "Farmers are ruined in the country, women are unsafe, and poverty is spreading. The government should pay attention to these problems. Democracy can only remain b when the public's trust in the election process remains intact."

Congress's Perspective

Congress MP Ranjita Ranjan said that voters are not satisfied with the SIR process. She said, "The biggest right of voters is to vote. Rahul Gandhi is constantly fighting for this. The entire Bihar stands with Congress and Rahul Gandhi. If our right to vote is snatched away, then what will be the meaning of democracy and politics?"

Priyanka Gandhi also said on this occasion that the protection of democracy and the security of voters' rights should be the priority of all opposition parties. She warned that vote theft and irregularities in the process cannot be ignored.

Opposition Strategy on SIR Process and Vote Theft

This demonstration by the opposition was not limited to protest. The leaders clarified to the Election Commission that they would take every possible step to protect democracy and the rights of voters. The Congress and Samajwadi Party said that incidents of irregularities in the SIR process and vote theft will be investigated through Parliament and the judiciary.

Experts believe that the opposition's activism on SIR and vote theft in sensitive areas like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh may give rise to a new debate in political circles. This may increase pressure on the central government, and the public's trust in the impartiality of the Election Commission may be questioned.
