Panchayat Star Sanvika Singh Speaks Out Against Inequality in Bollywood

Sanvika Singh, known for her role as Rinki in the popular web series "Panchayat," has voiced her concerns about the lack of respect and equality in the film industry, sharing the pain of being an "outsider." Her recent emotional social media post has sparked a significant discussion.

Sanvikaa: The glamorous world of Bollywood and web series has once again revealed its underbelly. Sanvika (real name Pooja Singh), who rose to fame portraying Rinki in "Panchayat," has shared her struggles. In an emotional social media post, she expressed her frustration over the discrimination and lack of respect she faces as an outsider in the industry.

Sanvika's Pain: "I wish I were from a film family..."

In her Instagram story, Sanvika wrote:

"Sometimes I wish I were an insider, or perhaps came from a very powerful background... things would be much easier (maybe, I don't know). Receiving respect and being treated equally, which is so fundamental, becomes a struggle. Stay b."

This post has raised several questions. Does family background still matter more than talent in Bollywood? Will outsiders ever be treated equally?

From Engineering to Acting

Hailing from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Sanvika completed her engineering studies but never intended to pursue a corporate career. She told her parents she was going to Bangalore for a job, but actually went to Mumbai – the city of dreams, where thousands arrive daily chasing acting aspirations.

Her initial days were incredibly challenging, marked by rejections and financial struggles. However, she persevered, attending numerous auditions. During this time, she also secured a job as an assistant director, gaining valuable insights into the industry.

"Panchayat" Brought Recognition, But the Search for Respect Continues

Sanvika received her big break when she landed the role of Rinki in the web series "Panchayat." Her portrayal of the Pradhan's daughter and the potential love interest of "Sachiv Ji" resonated deeply with audiences. In "Panchayat" season 2, she solidified her presence and became an overnight social media sensation.

With season 4's release scheduled for June 24th, Sanvika is once again in the spotlight – not for her role, but for the questions she's raised about the industry's attitude.

Sanvika's Success Across OTT Platforms

Following the success of "Panchayat," Sanvika secured roles in several OTT projects, including "Lakhan Leela Bhargav" and "Hajamat." She delivered b performances in each project, but believes she's consistently been held back compared to star kids.

She argues that some in the industry gain respect and opportunities solely based on their name and connections, while those who work hard must fight for their rightful place.

Fans Show Support, Voices Raised in Solidarity

Following Sanvika's post, fans and industry professionals expressed their support on social media. On Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, fans expressed their pride in Sanvika's achievements as an outsider. Many even hailed her as the "next generation Vidya Balan" – possessing both acting prowess and self-respect.
