Parliament to Debate Pahalgam Attack and Operation Sindoor

Parliament to debate Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor today. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Rahul Gandhi will participate in the discussion. Mayawati has appealed for a discussion above party politics.

New Delhi. The monsoon session of Parliament will feature a special discussion on Monday regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and the subsequent launch of 'Operation Sindoor' in response. The attack on April 22 claimed the lives of 26 civilians, prompting retaliatory military action by Indian security forces. The central government has described this operation as a decisive step against terrorism.

Senior Government Ministers to Present Their Case

According to sources, during the discussion in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar are expected to present their perspectives. There is also a possibility that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself may intervene in the discussion to clarify the government's national security policy.

Opposition also Ready, Rahul Gandhi May Attack the Government

From the opposition, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may participate in the discussion. It is understood that the opposition may raise questions about US President Donald Trump's previous mediation claims and India's diplomatic policy. The opposition may corner the government in the House by linking this issue to government accountability.

Mayawati's Blunt Statement

Before the debate in Parliament, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati stated on social media that serious issues like 'Operation Sindoor' should be discussed above party politics. She said that the people of the country need a policy in which no mother has to lose her son and no woman has to lose her husband. Her statement is being seen as an appeal for a positive debate in Parliament.

Army Sends Clear Message, Terrorist Hideouts Targeted

Under 'Operation Sindoor,' the Indian Army precisely targeted potential terrorist hideouts. Based on intelligence inputs, this limited-duration operation aimed to send the message that India will not tolerate terrorist attacks. Security arrangements have since been further strengthened in Jammu and Kashmir and border areas.
