Patna Crime News: A sensational murder has been uncovered in Patna, the capital of Bihar. On Monday (August 18, 2025), the body of 30-year-old Mohammad Shahzad, an e-rickshaw driver, was recovered near the Fatehpur dam in the Didarganj police station area. His eyes had been gouged out and his throat slit. The investigation revealed that two brothers, angered by their sister's love affair, carried out the incident with the help of their friends. On Tuesday, the police arrested all five accused and recovered the weapons used in the murder.
Summoned on the Pretext of a Birthday Party and Murdered
The police investigation revealed that the deceased Mohammad Shahzad, an e-rickshaw driver by profession, was involved with the sister of two real brothers residing in Hajiganj. The two brothers – Sumit Kumar and Sujit Kumar – objected to this relationship. Hurt by the taunts of the neighborhood and relatives, they conspired with their three friends to murder Shahzad.
According to the plan, the accused booked Shahzad's e-rickshaw for a supposed birthday party. At night, he was lured to the Fatehpur dam, where he was murdered with sharp weapons. A chisel, wrench, and other weapons were recovered from the scene by the police.
A Love Affair Became the Reason for Murder
During interrogation, the accused confessed that the deceased Shahzad was in a love relationship with Sumit and Sujit's sister. He often passed by their house in his e-rickshaw. Gradually, this relationship became a topic of discussion in the neighborhood and among relatives.
Troubled by the taunts and social pressure, the two brothers decided to end the relationship. Ultimately, with the help of friends, Shahzad was murdered. According to the police, this case is clearly one of honor killing.
A Climate of Fear in the Area
When the people of Fatehpur and Madhopur villages saw the young man's body near the pond, everyone was stunned. Soon, the news spread throughout the area, and people were filled with fear and anger. Villagers say that this murder appears to be a case of "honor killing," which is a very dangerous and wrong mindset for society.
Police Action and Further Investigation
The police arrested all five accused and presented them in court, after which they were sent to jail. During interrogation, all of them confessed to committing the murder. The police say that the accused carried out this incident under a well-thought-out plan.
Now, the police are thoroughly investigating the matter. It is also being investigated whether anyone else was involved in the murder plot. Additionally, the police are also investigating the accused's past criminal records to ascertain their complete criminal history.
