Beneficiary farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme have been required to complete the e-KYC process before the release of the 23rd installment. The Central Government has stated that farmers whose verification remains incomplete may face difficulties in receiving the next installment. Farmers can complete the process online from home through the official portal using Aadhaar authentication and an OTP.
The Central Government has advised beneficiaries of the PM-Kisan scheme to complete the e-KYC process within the stipulated time. According to the government, e-KYC is mandatory for receiving the next installment under the scheme. Farmers whose verification is still pending have been urged to complete the process as soon as possible. If a beneficiary’s e-KYC remains incomplete, the release of the upcoming installment may be delayed or the payment may be withheld.
The government has made e-KYC mandatory to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach only genuine and eligible farmers. In recent years, digital verification mechanisms have been strengthened across several government schemes to identify and remove ineligible beneficiaries. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, e-KYC is being implemented as part of this effort.
Through the e-KYC process, farmers’ identities are verified using Aadhaar data. The verification helps identify individuals who may be receiving benefits despite being ineligible. It also enables the government to ensure that financial assistance is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the intended beneficiaries. Officials have stated that e-KYC has improved both the transparency and effectiveness of the scheme.
Farmers are not required to visit government offices or Common Service Centres to complete e-KYC. The process can be completed from home using a mobile phone. Beneficiaries must visit the official PM-Kisan website and select the e-KYC option available on the portal.
Farmers are required to enter their Aadhaar number, after which an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. The verification process can be completed by entering the OTP. Once the OTP is successfully verified, the e-KYC process is considered complete. The government has urged farmers to complete the process without waiting for any deadline in order to avoid future payment-related issues.
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually. The amount is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts in three equal installments. The scheme benefits millions of farmers across the country. The previous installment was released in March 2026, and beneficiaries are now awaiting the 23rd installment.
Based on payment patterns in previous years, the next installment is expected to be released around July 2026. However, the Central Government has not yet announced an official date for the release of the 23rd installment. Farmers have been advised to rely only on information published through official government channels and the PM-Kisan portal and to complete the e-KYC process in time to avoid any disruption in receiving the installment.
