Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on Thursday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. The meeting is being held under the theme “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat 2047”.
The meeting is focused on shaping the roadmap for “Viksit Bharat 2047” under the country’s long-term development vision. Discussions will center on strengthening coordination between the Centre and states and advancing a future development model for the country.
Chief Ministers of all states, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories, Union Ministers, the Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, its members, and senior officials will participate in the high-level meeting.
A key area of discussion will be the Inclusive Human Development Framework, which is based on four pillars. These include building foundational human capital and developing skills aligned with future requirements, promoting productive employment and entrepreneurship, improving health and nutrition, and ensuring equity and dignity for all.
The government aims to achieve balanced progress across these four areas as part of its objective of making India a developed nation by 2047.
The meeting will also focus on job creation, skill development, and overall economic growth. Discussions are expected on expanding and improving the use of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).
NITI Aayog is expected to emphasize ber alignment between central and state government schemes to improve the effectiveness of development programmes at the grassroots level.
The meeting will also consider a data-driven monitoring system aimed at promoting modern and transparent governance. The framework is expected to include regular reviews of progress against short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals. The mechanism is intended to enable real-time assessment and measurement of the impact of development initiatives.
The Governing Council meeting will also review recommendations made during the National Conference of Chief Secretaries, which was held from December 26 to 28, 2025.
