As the Bihar Assembly elections draw nearer, political activities are intensifying. While Navratri is still a few days away, the entry of "Duryodhana" into Bihar's politics has already created a stir.
Patna: The political temperature in Bihar has been rising ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party, has caused a sensation in political circles with a statement. He described Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the grand patriarch of crime and corruption, while labelling opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav as the Duryodhana of Bihar's politics.
Prashant Kishor alleged that Tejashwi Yadav and his father Lalu Yadav together promoted crime and corruption in the state and pushed Bihar into backwardness for 15 years.
Political Rhetoric Gains Momentum Amidst Election Atmosphere
As the election dates approach, political statements in Bihar are intensifying. Although Navratri is still a few days away, the use of symbols like Duryodhana and Bhishma Pitamah in Bihar's politics has become a topic of discussion. In a conversation with the media, Prashant Kishor said that if Nitish Kumar is the Bhishma Pitamah of crime and corruption, then Tejashwi Yadav is Duryodhana. He alleged that these two leaders have given social acceptance to crime and promoted corruption in Bihar.
He stated that Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Yadav made crime and corruption a part of society in the state. For 15 years, Bihar continued to decline. Every citizen of Bihar knows that no leader has been more corrupt or criminal than them. Tejashwi Yadav speaking on crime and corruption is like a lion advising people to become vegetarians.
Strong Allegations Against Lalu-Tejashwi
Prashant Kishor also said that Lalu Yadav's 15-year rule worsened Bihar's situation. "It is known to the entire Bihar that the state's condition deteriorated during their parents' rule. Moreover, despite being the Deputy Chief Minister for three years, Tejashwi Yadav did not bring any improvement; instead, he further worsened the situation." However, Prashant Kishor also attacked Nitish Kumar. He said that criminals and ministers in his government promoted corruption.
But at the same time, he clarified that Nitish Kumar is personally honest. He said, "Corruption has occurred in the government, but no questions are raised about Nitish Kumar's personal integrity. No one should doubt this." This statement is politically significant because Prashant Kishor has presented himself as a serious and practical leader by adopting a balanced stance of opposition and support.
