Rahul Gandhi's allegations of electoral fraud in the Maharashtra elections have sparked a political uproar. BJP president JP Nadda and Chirag Paswan dismissed it as Congress's frustration, while the opposition claimed Rahul was making excuses for his party's anticipated defeat.
Rahul Gandhi: A recent article by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has stirred the nation's political landscape. Entitled "Match-Fixing Maharashtra," the article levels serious accusations of electoral malpractice against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Gandhi's statement has triggered a wave of political reactions, particularly from BJP president JP Nadda and LJP leader Chirag Paswan, who have bly criticized Gandhi for his allegations.
What did Rahul Gandhi say?
Gandhi's article, published in an English newspaper, alleges that electoral irregularities were committed to bring the BJP to power, undermining the democratic process in Maharashtra. He claimed that the voting process was rigged and the results manipulated in favor of the BJP. Gandhi described this as a threat to democracy, writing that it was a pre-planned operation.
JP Nadda's sharp retort
Reacting to Gandhi's article, BJP national president JP Nadda posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the article reflects Gandhi's frustration and despair stemming from his party's consistent electoral losses. He accused Gandhi of fabricating a false narrative. Nadda also sarcastically outlined Gandhi's strategy in five points:
- Congress loses elections due to Rahul Gandhi's actions.
- Instead of introspection, Rahul Gandhi spreads tales of conspiracies and rigging.
- He ignores all facts and figures.
- He defames institutions without evidence.
- He prioritizes headlines over truth.
Nadda stated that despite repeated exposure, Gandhi continues to spread falsehoods. He believes Gandhi already anticipates Congress and the INDIA alliance's defeat in Bihar and has therefore begun making excuses.
Chirag Paswan also targets Gandhi
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and NDA leader Chirag Paswan also criticized Rahul Gandhi. He said that Gandhi already knows Congress will face defeat in Bihar and is therefore using allegations of irregularities in the Maharashtra elections as a pretext for the loss.
Paswan stated, "Earlier, Rahul Gandhi blamed EVMs, but now he has created a new narrative about fake voters being created. This clearly shows his frustration."
Paswan's concern over rising crime
Regarding the law and order situation in Bihar, Paswan stated that maintaining law and order is the responsibility of the Bihar government. Although he is not part of the government, he expressed natural concern about issues affecting the public. He expressed confidence in Nitish Kumar's government and said the administration should pay attention to this.
Paswan's response on the Chief Minister's post
When questioned about the Chief Minister's post, Paswan dismissed the rumors, stating, "Those who say I am eyeing the Chief Minister's chair are mistaken. Let me clarify that I have no such intention. Nitish Kumar will remain the Chief Minister, and the government will run under the NDA's leadership."
