Ratlam Navratri: Non-Hindus Banned from Garba Pandals Amid Security Concerns, Qazi Appeals to Muslim Community

In Ratlam, non-Hindus have been banned from entering Garba pandals during Navratri. Entry will only be permitted after ID verification and checking banners. The city Qazi appealed to the Muslim community to prevent their children from visiting the pandals.

Ratlam: With the beginning of the Navratri festival, controversy has arisen regarding entry into Garba pandals. Banners have been put up in the pandals erected in the Kalika Mata complex, clearly stating that 'Entry of non-Hindus is strictly prohibited'. Organizers state that entry into the pandal will only be granted after checking identity cards and passes. This step has been taken with the objective of maintaining security and social order.

Strict Entry Rules in Navratri Pandals

In previous years, large crowds gathered in pandals during the Navratri festival. This time, organizers in Ratlam have further tightened the entry rules. Entry into the pandal is only being allowed after applying a 'tilak' and checking ID. Organizers state that this step has been taken especially for the safety of girls.

In some pandals, passes and identity cards have been made mandatory for entry. Organizers state that this decision has been taken to prevent anti-social elements and maintain peace during the event.

Necessary Steps for Women's Safety in Garba Pandals

Similar 'No Entry' posters have been put up in many Garba pandals across the state. Organizers believe that this step is essential for the safety of women and girls and to maintain social harmony. Some people are also commending this initiative, considering it a positive step in the interest of women's safety.

However, critics consider it a step that promotes religious and social segregation. They argue that this decision could affect mutual brotherhood among communities.

City Qazi's Letter and Appeal to the Community

The city Qazi of Ratlam has written a letter to members of the Muslim community, appealing to them not to participate in Garba events. The letter states that the entry of non-Hindus could create social disputes during the event and negatively impact mutual brotherhood.

The Qazi urged the elders of the community to prevent their children from going to the pandals. He also stated that it is not appropriate from a religious perspective. He believes that this step will help maintain harmony between both communities.
