Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has signaled a significant political move regarding the post of Vice President of India. He stated that this time, the Vice President should be from Telangana, and he proposed the name of Haryana Governor and senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya for the position. Simultaneously, Revanth Reddy launched a b attack on the central NDA government and the BJP's policies, accusing them of neglecting regional and OBC representation.
Bandaru Dattatreya's Name Proposed for Vice President
During an interaction with journalists, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the Vice President of India should be from Telangana this time. He claimed that Telugu-speaking leaders have been treated unjustly in the past. Giving an example, he said that former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu was considered a contender for the post of President, but he was sent back from Delhi.
Revanth Reddy accused the BJP of not giving importance to OBC leaders in Telangana. He said that when Bandaru Dattatreya was a Union Minister, his post was given to G. Kishan Reddy. Similarly, Bandi Sanjay was also removed from the post of BJP state president and Ramchander Rao, who comes from the Brahmin community, was given the command.
In support of Bandaru Dattatreya, Reddy said that even if 100 mistakes had to be forgiven, he should still be made the Vice President.
Sharp Attack on NDA
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also made a significant accusation against the BJP regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Bihar. He said that the BJP is trying to repeat a conspiracy like Maharashtra in Bihar. Reddy said that as long as the BJP-NDA remains in power, the country will be in danger.
He claimed that the BJP is constantly curtailing the political rights of OBC communities in South India, especially in Telangana. Appealing to the public, Revanth said that if the country is to be saved from this danger, then removing the NDA government from power is the only way.
When asked about the speculation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation, Reddy said that he does not know the reason for the resignation, but if he has resigned, it is unfortunate.
Will Give Presentation on Caste Survey Model
Revanth Reddy is on a Delhi tour and will give detailed information about Telangana's caste survey model to the MPs at the Congress headquarters 'Indira Bhavan' on Thursday. According to sources, the presentation will discuss the entire methodology of the survey, the data collected, and its socio-political significance.
In addition, Reddy may also meet with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. It is believed that these meetings may involve brainstorming on party organization, the government's performance in Telangana, and strategies for the upcoming elections.
Revanth Reddy's entire statement and Delhi visit have become a topic of discussion not only in regional politics but also at the national level. It remains to be seen what reaction the BJP gives to his proposal and sharp attacks.
