According to the Hindu Panchang, the month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is the time when devotees please Shiva through abhishek (ritual bathing), fasting, worship, and devotion. Establishing a Shivling in the house before the start of Sawan is considered very auspicious. Especially, Narmadeshwar Shivlings and Parad Shivlings are considered to be particularly fruitful.
The Narmadeshwar Shivling is naturally formed in the flow of the Narmada River; therefore, it is placed in the category of self-manifested Shivlings. This Shivling helps in removing Vastu defects, Pitra Dosha, and negative energy. Keeping it in the house brings mental peace and financial stability.

Bringing the Idol of Nag Devata is Auspicious
Nagaraj Vasuki, who is wrapped around Lord Shiva's neck, is a symbol of his power and balance. It is considered very auspicious to bring an idol of Nag Devata made of silver, copper, or brass into the house before Sawan and install it at the place of worship.
This idol protects against the effects of Rahu-Ketu, provides peace from Kaalsarp Dosha, and provides protection from fear, troubles, and obstacles. Offering raw milk and water to the Nag Dev idol every Monday is beneficial. This increases the influence of the Shiva element and brings stability in family life.
The Importance of Pure Vibhuti or Bhasma
Lord Shiva is considered the deity who wears bhasma (sacred ash). The vibhuti on his body is not only symbolic but also helps the seeker to come out of illusion and delusion.
Before Sawan, bringing vibhuti into the house and applying it in the form of Tripundra on the forehead, arms, and neck is considered auspicious. This vibhuti should be made from the ash of a sacred Havan. Applying it awakens spiritual consciousness and allows one to experience the Shiva element.
Applying vibhuti increases the concentration of the seeker and protects against negative energy. It purifies the body, mind, and soul and creates a favorable environment for meditation.
The Special Fruit of Establishing a Dakshinavarti Shankh
Shiva is very fond of the sound of the conch, but the Dakshinavarti Shankh is considered especially auspicious. This conch opens towards the right and is considered a symbol of Shiva.
Establishing this conch in the house before Sawan, especially in the place of worship, removes the negative energy of the house. Offering Gangajal in it and then pouring it over the Shivling brings special merit.
