Haryanvi dancer and singer Sapna Choudhary has filed a petition in the Dwarka Women’s Court in Delhi, alleging physical assault and harassment by her husband, Haryanvi singer Veer Sahu.
According to information presented before the court, Choudhary alleged that she was subjected to mental and physical harassment. Seeking legal relief, she approached the court, which took immediate cognizance of the petition during the preliminary hearing and granted interim protection.
The court directed Sahu not to contact Choudhary in any manner until the next hearing. He has also been restrained from visiting her residence or workplace and from directly or indirectly causing any form of harassment.
During the proceedings, Choudhary’s legal representatives submitted video recordings, audio clips and other electronic evidence before the court. After reviewing the material presented, the court admitted the matter for further hearing.
The next hearing has been scheduled for July 25, when the court is expected to examine the arguments and evidence presented by both parties in greater detail.
According to sources, Choudhary has separated from her matrimonial home following the escalation of the marital dispute and is currently residing with her family. It is reported that she is living with her family in the Dwarka Expressway area of Delhi.
Choudhary and Sahu married in 2020 in Punjab. The couple has two children. Choudhary, who hails from Hisar district in Haryana, has been active in stage performances and the music industry for several years. Sahu is also a well-known figure in the Haryanvi music industry.
Following the court’s interim protection order, the matter has drawn public attention. The court has stated that both parties are expected to maintain restraint until the proceedings are concluded. The case will next be reviewed on July 25, when the court is scheduled to undertake a detailed examination of the facts and evidence related to the dispute.
