Surekha Yadav was born in Satara, Maharashtra. She completed a diploma in Electrical Engineering before becoming a locomotive pilot. She began her career as a trained assistant driver. In 2023, Surekha Yadav also became the first female loco pilot to operate the Vande Bharat Express from Solapur to CSMT. This achievement earned her recognition at both state and national levels.
