TDP Achieves Historic Victory in YSRCP Stronghold Pulivendula

A significant shift has been observed in the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh. Following their removal from power in the state last year, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has now achieved a historic victory in Pulivendula, a bhold of their rival party, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

Amaravati: After snatching the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's chair, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has recorded a historic victory by defeating former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in his bhold. In the Andhra Pradesh local body elections, the ruling TDP secured a major victory in Pulivendula, a bastion of Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). TDP candidate Marreddy Lata Reddy won this election by a significant margin.

The Pulivendula assembly seat has long been held by the YSRCP and falls within the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, where YS Avinash Reddy is currently the YSRCP Member of Parliament.

TDP's Historic Victory in Pulivendula

The Pulivendula assembly seat, which falls under the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, has been a long-time bhold of the YSRCP. Currently, YS Avinash Reddy is the Member of Parliament from this region. However, in the recent Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) by-election, TDP candidate Marreddy Lata Reddy won by a significant margin.

The TDP candidate received a total of 6,735 votes, while the YSRCP candidate received only 683 votes. This seat was open for election after 40 years, and this time the era of unopposed election came to an end. With this victory, the YSRCP's continuous winning streak has been broken.

TDP's Message: Victory of Democracy

Following this victory, the TDP released a message on social media, stating that "Democracy has won in Pulivendula after 30 years." The party also said that the people of Pulivendula voted freely and openly in this election, giving a b and decisive message to democracy. According to the TDP, this victory is a reward given by the public for one year of good governance by the coalition government. The party presented it as political freedom gained after 30 years.

Pulivendula was considered the bhold of former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Until now, the election situation in this area was not so clear that it would be challenging for any candidate. In most cases, the YSRCP used to win unopposed. But this time, by registering a clear and decisive victory, the TDP has shown that questions can be raised about Jagan Mohan Reddy's popularity.
