Tejashwi Yadav has alleged that senior BJP leaders are becoming voters in Bihar from Gujarat. He demanded an investigation from the Election Commission and said that the opposition's votes would be secure.
Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, has made serious allegations against the BJP, stating that a senior party official is changing voter registrations in various states. According to Yadav, Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, the BJP's state organization general secretary, has transferred his voter registration from Gujarat to Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav's Allegation
Tejashwi Yadav shared a post on the social media platform X on Wednesday. He wrote that Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania is a resident of Gujarat and is the State Organization General Secretary of BJP Bihar. He is considered a close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Yadav claimed that he has been assigned the task of BJP's special Bihar project.
Yadav said that Dalsania previously voted in Amit Shah's Gandhinagar constituency. As the Bihar Assembly elections approached, he removed his name from the Gujarat voter list and became a voter in Bihar. Yadav also stated that after the Bihar elections are over, Dalsania could possibly become a voter in another state.
Suspicion in Voter List
According to Tejashwi Yadav, Dalsania's permanent address or house number is not recorded in the Bihar voter list. Additionally, his name is written not in Hindi but in Gujarati. Yadav claims that this will prevent Hindi-speaking voters from identifying him. He also accused the Election Commission of not adequately monitoring changes to the voter list this time.
Serious Allegations Against the Election Commission
Tejashwi Yadav also said that the Election Commission of India, in collaboration with the BJP, is issuing two voter photo identity card (EPIC) numbers to its leaders and workers. According to Yadav, this step is being taken to cut opposition votes. He said in a press conference in Patna that he had previously exposed the case of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha. Now he is bringing this allegation to light as well.
Yadav said, "BJP people are being given not one, but two EPIC numbers, and this is happening in the same assembly constituency. This is causing disturbances in the voter list and the elections are not remaining fair."
BJP's Reaction and Confidant
Regarding Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, Tejashwi Yadav says that he is working under the BJP's special Bihar project. According to Yadav, Dalsania formulates strategies for the BJP and is a close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Yadav also added that Dalsania previously voted in Gujarat, but the purpose of registering him in Bihar is not clear.
Demand for Transparency in the Election Process
Tejashwi Yadav demanded clarification from the Election Commission on how many states Dalsania and other leaders have voted in and how many times. He said that transparency should be ensured in the voting process and there should be no kind of rigging.
Yadav said that there are many such cases in the voter list in Bihar where a person's name or address is completely unclear. In addition, the name has not been written in the local language, which makes voter identification difficult. He urged the Election Commission to conduct a thorough investigation of all these cases.
