Toyota has launched the new Sprint Edition of its popular premium sedan, the Camry, in India. Priced at ₹48.50 lakh (ex-showroom), it is the same as the regular variant. It features sporty exterior updates, advanced features, and a hybrid powertrain that delivers a mileage of 25.49 kmpl.
New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the new Camry Sprint Edition, a luxury hybrid sedan, in the Indian market. Priced at ₹48.50 lakh (ex-showroom), this car comes with a dealer-level accessories kit. It includes sporty bumper extensions, black alloy wheels, and new features. Equipped with a 2.5-liter petrol-hybrid engine, the Camry Sprint Edition offers a mileage of 25.49 kmpl and competes with premium sedans such as the Skoda Superb, Audi A4, and Mercedes C-Class.
Design and New Exterior Updates
The Toyota Camry Sprint Edition has been specially designed to offer a sporty look. It features front and rear bumper extensions that make it more attractive. Additionally, the car is equipped with black 18-inch alloy wheels that further enhance its premium appearance. A small spoiler has also been added to the boot lid, giving it an even sportier feel.
This edition is available in five color options, including Platinum White Pearl, Dark Blue Metallic, Emotional Red, Cement Gray, and Precious Metal. All these colors feature a matte black finish on the bonnet, roof, and trunk, distinguishing it from the other variants.
Interior and High-Tech Features
The interior of the Camry Sprint Edition has also been made quite premium. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Wireless charging is also provided.
For entertainment, it has a 9-speaker JBL sound system. It also offers features like a 10-inch head-up display, ventilated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety features, it is equipped with Toyota's Safety Sense 3.0 suite. Additionally, it includes front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, memory settings for electric ORVMs, and reclining seats. The driver's seat is 10-way power-adjustable and also has a memory function.
Engine and Performance
The Toyota Camry Sprint Edition is powered by the same 2.5-liter petrol-hybrid powertrain that is available in the regular Camry. It uses an eCVT gearbox. This engine generates 227 bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque.
This hybrid sedan comes with three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Toyota claims that the Camry Hybrid delivers a mileage of 25.49 kilometers per liter, which is the highest in its segment.
Accessories and Additional Features
Toyota has designed the Sprint Edition as a dealer-level available accessories kit. It includes features like ambient lighting and puddle lamps. This edition has been designed keeping in mind customers who prefer sporty and premium-looking sedans.
Competition
In the Indian market, the Toyota Camry Sprint Edition is expected to directly compete with the Skoda Superb. Although the Superb is currently not available in the Indian market, it is expected to return soon. Additionally, luxury sedans like the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus ES 300h, and BMW 3 Series are also its competitors.
The Toyota Camry has always been known for its reliability and excellent performance. Now, with the Sprint Edition, the company has added even more appeal to it. With the price remaining the same, this car has become an even better option for customers who want both luxury and mileage.
