Two Indian citizens have died, one remains missing, and several others have been injured in incidents linked to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the fatalities occurred during attacks on commercial vessels operating in waters affected by the conflict. He said two Indian nationals lost their lives in the incidents and that one individual remains missing while search efforts continue. Jaiswal said the safety of every Indian citizen remains the priority of the Government of India.
According to the ministry, the incidents occurred when Indian citizens were travelling aboard commercial ships that came under attack in conflict-affected maritime areas. The attacks occurred in the Gulf region, and several Indian nationals were also injured as a result. One individual was injured in Israel and another sustained injuries in Dubai.
Jaiswal said, “Regarding the casualties, we have lost two Indian citizens and one remains missing. We express our deepest condolences to their families. All these incidents occurred when they were travelling on commercial vessels that were attacked.”
He added that the ministry remains in contact with the affected Indian citizens and their families. The ministry is focused on ensuring that all injured and affected Indians receive timely assistance and that their safety is secured.
The Ministry of External Affairs said several Indian nationals in the Gulf region were injured during the conflict. One individual was injured in Israel and another person sustained injuries in Dubai.
The ministry said it has maintained regular contact with these individuals and is working to ensure they receive necessary medical assistance.
Jaiswal said regional embassies and consulates are continuously active to ensure the safety of Indian citizens. All missions remain in contact with members of the affected community and are coordinating assistance.
The Ministry of External Affairs has established a Special Control Room to assist Indian citizens during the ongoing situation. The control room operates around the clock and handles emergency calls.
Through this facility, the ministry coordinates with Indian embassies and consulates located in the affected countries.

Jaiswal said the purpose of the control room is to ensure that all Indian citizens can receive immediate assistance. The services include travel safety guidance, health assistance, and other necessary support.
The ministry said the incidents occurred during attacks on commercial vessels operating in waters affected by the conflict. Such attacks may pose risks to individuals travelling on these ships as they may become trapped in unsafe situations.
The ministry said efforts are ongoing to help Indian citizens in the affected regions reach safer locations as soon as possible. Embassies and consulates are working with local authorities to provide assistance.
The Ministry of External Affairs said it has initiated steps to ensure that the families of deceased and injured Indian citizens receive all possible assistance. Processes to provide financial and legal support to the families of the deceased have been initiated.
Search efforts for the missing individual continue, and families are being provided updates.
The ministry advised affected citizens to remain in contact with the nearest Indian embassy or consulate. It also said that in any emergency situation, Indian citizens can seek assistance through the 24-hour control room.
Jaiswal said the safety of every Indian citizen remains the highest priority of the Government of India. The ministry continues to monitor the situation involving Indian citizens in affected regions.
He urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to unsafe areas and to follow government advisories.
The ministry also said that necessary security measures are being implemented, including continuous monitoring of affected regions, emergency assistance, and direct coordination through Indian diplomatic missions.
